Dr. Melanie Mund is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist in both the United States and Israel. Since September 2023, she has served as an attending physician and gynecological surgeon at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Mund earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in 2004, and a masters in bioethics in 2006. She continued her academic journey at Downstate College of Medicine in New York, graduating in 2011. Following medical school, Dr. Mund completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut, where she gained invaluable clinical expertise, graduating in 2015. Dr. Mund began her career as an attending physician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut (2015–2018), and subsequently took on the role of Clinical Instructor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University’s College of Medicine. During her tenure at Yale (2018–2023), she taught residents and medical students while continuing to provide top-tier care to her patients.
In 2023, Dr. Mund made aliyah and now resides in Jerusalem with her husband and four children. Her practice is rooted in compassion and a commitment to empowering women through expert medical care. Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Mund’s background in bioethics underscores her holistic approach to medicine, ensuring that each patient receives care that is not only evidence-based but also ethically sound and culturally sensitive.
She specializes in contraception counseling and management including IUD placement, pregnancy care and family planning, menopause care and abnormal uterine bleeding as well as all routine obstetric and gynecological care.
